The Amazon River Basin is a magical animal kingdom. Animals such as leopards and various types of insects live in the lower layer of the tropical rainforest, animals such as sloths and various types of butterflies live in the middle layer, and various types of birds live in the upper layer. I painted the Toco Toucan, the national bird of Brazil, during my visit. It has a gentle temperament, is not afraid of people, and loves to show off – just like a celebrity.
